What is multimedia? Multimedia is a combination of different content forms such as text, audio, video, images, animation and so on as long as it is electronic media. The main use of multimedia is for entertainment. Today we can find a lot of multimedia base on entertainment, this is because technology can deliver great products of multimedia. Most of the people these days don’t go out and do outdoors stuff much, they like to sit in their home, in their room and log in into their computers and play videogames and watch movies. Why is that people now days like to waste their time and money on electronics? What is so good about them? With these multimedia we can connect to each other or send a message to the people by using images, audio and such.
As a multimedia student, we must know what function and benefits of this multimedia and as a student too, we like to play videogames. Does videogames also a multimedia? Yes videogames also is a type of multimedia because it is consist of images, audio, video and interactive. Many people say that playing videogames is waste of time, but not to us. In videogames, there’s also storytelling, positive message and art. Some people can learn good things by playing videogames, but it is also depends on what type of videogame are you playing. Not many people realize that videogames also can help us make new friends and make a good bonding with our friends. This is by playing the type of games where you have to play with your friend and help each other out and sometimes videogames can ruin your friendship in one game. Many gamers like to play dirty and sometimes they like to use cheat codes to win or play dirty. It’s amazing that videogames can make you have great friends and at the same time can ruin your friendship apart.
So what is the good example of this videogame? The videogame that can make you have great friends and at the same time can ruin your relationship? Easy, it’s Defense of the Ancient also known as DotA. So what is DotA actually? DotA is a strategy game that contains 2 groups and each group contains 5 players that’s 10 players total for each game. Each group have to destroy the opponents base. Sounds like a normal strategy game? No, each player can select their own hero. This gives the game more interesting. Players have to work together and fight the opponent’s team. Most of the people in Malaysia plays DotA whether their old or young, you can see a lot of people in cyber cafĂ© just to play DotA. We’ve been playing DotA for quite some time and from what we’ve experienced, we fight and argue a lot of time during playing the game. This is because that one of our team member is not coping very well that’s why we argue after a match if we lose, and sometime we don’t speak to each other for a very long time.
When I play DotA, I will always set my mind to focus not to become extreme angry and mind.It is a very wrong emotion especially when u are losing.Usually I only get pissed when I play very well in a team but then one or two of my team members play around without really care to win.So is like your effort while playing is just only waste of energy and time. This kind of situation may lead to inner fight or revenge between you and your team unless you take the game unseriously.Playing this game with friends sometimes is the best cure when you want to to release your stress.Playing the game after hard day when finishing the assignment, laughing with friends when the teamwork goes wrong or make fun of your enemy sometimes is the best to feel only when u play DotA.You can choose to play public which is playing with a unknown person from around the world or choose your friends to help you fight the best team out there. Some of the software is Garena,Steam and Ucpro to meet all the DotA player out there. This game lately is very famous nowadays.Estimate around 20 million of dota player download the map from the website just to play the game each day. This game own its pride increasing famous until the company ‘Valve corporation’ create Dota 2, as a new game replace the old dota. This sequel with a character all was build in 3D technology and extreme highly graphic may be on the best game out there other than ‘Starcraft’ and ‘Diablo’.Dota 2 first shown as a tournament on german a couple of weeks ago and will be fully released on late of 2011.
These days it seems almost everyone has a theory about the future of video games. Many software developers see themselves on a collision course with the film industry, with games having their own version of the Oscars.Others expect games to mimic art history by undergoing a series of graphic reinterpretations.Bit if you look closely, the young history of gaming seems to be following the evolution of vehicle where games appear most television.
We tend to see gaming as one all-encompassing genre under a capital “G”.But within that genre, many sub classification will rise, thrive, endure and fail.Just as reality-based fare is among th most successful television of the las decade,it’s possible that the new massive, multiplayer online games will follow a similar course. It’s feasible that million of people will soon compete in a virtual world for the right to become Donald Trump’s Apprentice.Perhaps a enterprising designer will create an educational game that rivals the social significance of Sesame Street. And maybe a group of prescient developers will make a game series that allow participants to see what it’s like to perform in a real-life. Hopefully.

Lateral Thinking
Lateral Thinking is concerned with changing concepts and perceptions.
It is about reasoning that is not immediately obvious and about ideas
that may not be obtainable by using only traditional step-by-step logic.vertical thinking:
- rightness is what matters.
- it selects a pathway (and stops searching) by excluding other pathways.
- it selects the best approach.
lateral thinking:
- richness is what matters.
- does not select, opens up other pathways; generates many alternatives even after one has found a promising one.
- generating different approaches for the sake of generating them.
Juxtaposition part.2
Many creative processes relies on juxtaposition. The act of juxtaposing is to place two objects or words next to each other. What automatically happens is that there is transference of meaning. Usually from something familiar to something less familiar.
LOGICAL ANALOGIES
Logical analogies are analogies, which use similarities in the design, structure or function of to connect back to the subject. For example a duck can be compared to a hovercraft because of the fact that both of them can move on the surface of land and water.AFFECTIVE ANALOGIES
Affective analogies are the emotional resemblance. The clearest example is the use of an animal to explain a certain characteristic of a person. This type of analogy is used most frequently in conversation to emphasis certain points.Logical Mind Map 2
Logical Mind Map
Mind mapping, introduced by Tony Buzan is a great tool for idea generation and brainstorming. It enhance both sides of the human brain and widely used in taking notes, research or generating new ideas. Juxtaposition
"Juxtaposition can be defined as placing two variable, side by side and their contrast or similarity are shown through comparison. Many creative processes rely on juxtaposition. By juxtaposing two objects or words next to each other, human brain will automatically associate or transfer meaning. Usually ‘turning’ something familiar to something less familiar or vice-versa. "
-Notes from MMLS lesson 4.
Juxtaposition means that you take two different things or objects and put them together side by side to send message or to make comparison. Usually making them familiar to less familiar or other way around.
